Glen Waverley has a rich geographical variation ranging from river flats near the Dandenong creek to the hilly area between the Dandenong Creek and the Scotchmans Creek.
The Dandenong Creek borders the area from the east side, and the Waverley Road and View Mount Road are present in the south-east. The Ferntree Gully Road is in the south, and Blackburn Road and Highbury Road bound the suburbs from the west and the north, respectively. Springvale Road, a prominent distributor of the north-south region, roughly divides the suburb into two.
